The recognition is awarded annually by UCA’s faculty to the graduate nursing student with the highest cumulative grade point average and who evidences intellectual curiosity and scholarly writing.

Her decision to continue to pursue knowledge and professional growth showcases her passion for providing the best possible care to her patients. Combined with her extensive education and experience, positions Shawntel as a highly qualified and accomplished nurse practitioner.

Work Experience

Shawntel began her NP career at UAMS, Magnolia, where she had the invaluable opportunity to build a professional foundation under the mentorship of a diverse team.

After her time at UAMS, Shawntel made the transition to SMG where she continued to expand her knowledge and skills. She had the privilege of being mentored for seven years by a highly experienced and knowledgeable team.

Working alongside these experts at SMG provided her with invaluable insights, further honing her clinical expertise and strengthening her commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Shawntel is is deeply honored to begin working alongside Dr. Fred Murphy and the team at South Arkansas Cardiac Rehab as the Supervising Provider.

Through her experiences at UAMS-Magnolia, and SMG, Shawntel has developed a deep understanding of medical practice, patient-centered care, and the importance of ongoing mentorship. These experiences have equipped her with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide comprehensive and compassionate healthcare to her patients.

My perspective on healthcare is firmly rooted in the belief that it necessitates a collaborative approach. Recognizing the complexities and challenges of providing comprehensive care, I understand the importance of working collectively with other healthcare professionals. By fostering effective teamwork, multidisciplinary teams can collaborate our unique expertise, skills, and perspectives to deliver the highest quality of healthcare to our community. I believe that healthcare is not just the responsibility of individual healthcare professionals, but rather a collaborative effort that involves patients and their families.

I recognize patients physical health is interconnected with their mental, emotional, and social well-being. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship with my patients, based on trust, empathy, and open communication. I attentively listen to patients' concerns, respect their unique perspectives, and involve them in decision-making processes. I want to ensure that patients feel empowered to ask questions, express their preferences, and actively engage in shared decision-making

I value patient education and empowerment. I believe that patients should be active participants in their healthcare decisions and have access to the information and resources they need to make informed choices. I aim to provide my patients with the knowledge and support they need to manage their health effectively and prevent illness.

I desire to educate my patients about their diagnoses, explain medical terminology in a way that is easy to understand, and clarify any doubts or concerns. Personal Tidbits

Born and raised in Columbia County and graduating high school in Emerson, Arkansas, I am deeply rooted in Magnolia. It holds a special place in my heart as it shaped who I am today. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to give back to my community by providing quality healthcare.

Beyond my professional life, my greatest joy and source of inspiration comes from my two beautiful children. They bring immense happiness and purpose to my life, and I am grateful for the privilege of being their mom. They are my greatest joy and motivation. As a family, we cherish our time together and engage in various activities that bring us closer. We love going camping, exploring the outdoors, relaxing by the pool, side-by-side riding and having a houseful of friends to fill our home with laughter. These adventures allow us to create lifelong memories that we will always cherish.

In my personal time, I have an avid interest in reading and expanding my knowledge. I find solace in curling up with a good book and exploring different realms through literature. Documentaries are typically my goto if I watch TV, as they offer valuable insights and inspire my thirst for learning.

Another aspect of my life is channeling my creative talents into various projects. From crafting to building, I take pride in using my hands to create something tangible and meaningful. Seeing a finished project come to life gives me a sense of accomplishment and fuels my creativity.

In summary, my life is enriched by my upbringing, my family, my interests, and my faith. Above all, I am humbled by the blessings bestowed upon me by the Lord. My life is filled with love, adventure, creativity, and constant learning. I value the time spent with my loved ones and find fulfillment in pursuing personal interests and supporting my children's passions. Throughout my life, I recognize that I am blessed by the Lord's goodness. His presence in my life has provided me with strength, guidance, and gratefulness. I am immensely thankful for the blessings I have received, and I strive to live a life that reflects my gratitude.

The decision to open my clinic was motivated by a deep desire to provide exceptional healthcare and contribute to the overall well-being of Magnolia and the surrounding communities. Dynamic Med Family Practice Clinic proudly holds the distinction of being Magnolia's very first nurse practitioner clinic with independent practice authority.

As a community we are incredibly fortunate to have a wealth of exceptional healthcare providers. It is my utmost goal to actively cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the providers and institutions in our area. By fostering these connections, I aim to promote collaboration, share knowledge and resources, and ultimately enhance the quality of care available to our patients. Together, we can work harmoniously to ensure that our community receives the comprehensive and compassionate healthcare it deserves.
